SikaTop-50 is an adhesion primer based on an acrylic resin in aqueous dispersion, designed as a bonding agent prior to the application of cementitious mortars, plasters, and gypsum-based plasters. It is used to improve adhesion between substrates and coatings, especially on porous surfaces or those subjected to thermal variations.

It is supplied ready for use, facilitating quick and efficient application on site, for both rendering and skimming work, or for bonding between different construction elements.

CHARACTERISTICS

• Provides a surface with good adhesion on substrates subjected to thermal variations, due to its flexibility.
• Non-flammable.
• Ready to use and easy to apply. Even sprayable.
• Long open time, even at high temperatures.
• When applied to horizontal surfaces, it maintains cohesion, preventing disintegration and aggregate displacement.
• Applicable on surfaces with some moisture (damp matte), but not saturated or waterlogged.
• Maintains tackiness for a considerable time, so it is not necessary to apply the mortar or plaster immediately afterwards.
• Not applicable on screeds for mortar toppings.
• Coverage: Approx. 0.125-0.150 kg/m2, depending on the roughness and absorption of the substrate.

USES

As an adhesion bridge for:

• Mortars, both site-mixed, and dry or pre-batched.
• Plasters, gypsum-based plasters.

The main substrates on which it can be used are:

• Concrete.
• Mortars, both normal and waterproof.
• Brick.
• Natural or artificial stone.
• Fiber cement.
• All materials that do not have zero porosity.

  Some typical application situations are:

• Adhesion layer for rendering.
• Adhesion layer for skimming.
• Connections between partition walls and pillars.
