Descripción
Adesilex P7 from Mapei is a high-performance cementitious adhesive, with zero vertical slip, for ceramic tiles and porcelain stoneware (applicable adhesive thickness up to 15 mm).
CHARACTERISTICS
Adesilex P7 is a gray or white powder, composed of cement, fine aggregates, synthetic resins and special additives, according to a formula developed in MAPEI's R&D laboratories.
Mixed with water, it forms a mortar with the following characteristics:
- easy workability;
- highly thixotropic: Adesilex P7 can be applied on a vertical surface without risk of sagging or slipping, even when using heavy tiles;
- perfect adhesion to all materials commonly used in construction;
- hardening without noticeable shrinkage.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Do not use Adesilex P7 in the following cases:
- on precast or poured-in-place concrete walls;
- on walls or floors subject to strong movements or vibrations (wood, fiber cement, etc.);
- on metal surfaces
APPLICATION MODE
Support preparation
- All supports where Adesilex P7 is applied must be flat, stable and free of degraded parts, greases, oils, paints, waxes, etc.
- Cementitious supports must not be subject to shrinkage after laying the ceramic tiles; Therefore, during spring and summer, plasters must mature for at least 1 week for each cm of thickness, and at least 28 days in the case of cementitious screeds, unless special MAPEI binders have been used to soleras
- If the surface of the support is too hot due to being exposed to the sun's rays, it must be cooled beforehand by moistening it with water. Gypsum supports and anhydrite screeds must be perfectly dry (max. residual humidity 0.5%), as well as sufficiently hardened and free of dust, and it is essential that they be treated with a primer.
Preparation of the mixture
- Mix Adesilex P7 with clean water until you obtain a homogeneous paste without lumps. Let it rest for about 5 minutes and then mix it again.
- Use 24-26 parts of water per 100 parts by weight of Adesilex P7, which is equivalent to 6.0-6.5 liters of water per 25 kg of Adesilex P7. Mixed in this way, Adesilex P7 has a shelf life of approximately 8 hours.
Application of the mixture
Adesilex P7 is applied to the support using a notched trowel. Choose a trowel that can cover 65-70% of the back of the tiles placed on interior walls and light traffic areas with adhesive, and that covers 100% on placements in high traffic areas as well as on all exterior work.
